Three stories of tricksters. We have Coyote from Native American mythology giving great gifts and racing a turtle. There's also Anansi the spider-man from West African folklore, who is trying to buy the stories of the world. We also catch up with our old friend Loki from Norse mythology, who just wants to give Thor's wife an impromptu, un-asked-for haircut.
The creature of the week is an emaciated horse who will either play harmless pranks on you, or crush you to death in the street.

Did this get removed? or maybe re-named?
Roadrunner cartoons make SO much more sense, now that I understand the backstory of Coyote’s relationship with ROCKS!
Just re-listened to this one. I’m dying to hear more Anansi stories!
I feel I am a bit late to the party but I discovered this podcast not so long ago. Actually I’ve never listened to podcasts before this one. This is probably one of my favorite episodes so far. (I had to start at the beginning… because starting at the end is not logical) I was wishing that when I worked at camp, I would have had some stories like this to tell around the campfire. Thanks for keeping me entertained while I work!
In Germany there is an identical race story about a hare and a hedgehog: http://www.grimmstories.com/en/grimm_fairy-tales/the_hare_and_the_hedgehog
The story of Anansi was my favorite in this episode. The way you read the part about the Fairy assault had me laughing so hard that I was in tears.
Thank you for bringing these stories to life!
How do you spell the name of this episode’s Creature of the Week? The taloned frog/emaciated horse trickster?
Kludde
The story of Coyote and the Turtle is beautifully repeated here, in this old 1941 Bugs Bunny cartoon. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bpayKCZuvFs
Enjoy!
Can you do a epsoide on the rest of antsi and good luck with the rest of the move
Yeah, I’m planning on doing many more Anansi stories. He’ll likely have his own episode in the future as soon as I can find a way to organize it well.
Any chance this is coming up?
The boulder line post the witches is brilliant delivery. Sympathetic, serious, yet the content whimsically ridiculous. Well done!
