🦢 Let them eat sand 🦢
A story from Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen about a witch who wants to take over the kingdom and the twelve kids who stand in her way. Just kidding, they have no idea what's going on.

I remember first listening to this podcast in 2020, when there were only ~190ish episodes. This podcast has come so far!
I don’t think you’ve covered much in the way of Irish stories, but the version of the Wild Swan you told has a few common elements with “The Children of Lir.” (I hadn’t heard of the swan princes stopping on a rock in the middle of the sea before.) I would definitely suggest looking into that one—even with the problematic “they converted to Christianity and then they died” ending. It’s definitely one of the most tragic old Irish tales out there. Not sure if it would be a myth or a legend, possibly a legend since it’s based in a specific historical era?
