What do you do after you hook the sun, dredge up islands for humanity, and bring fire to the world? How about settle down with a nice goddess, have some kids, and enjoy the simple life. Nevermind that your new spouse's evil ex is on the way...and he's a vicious, monstrous eel. You have nothing to worry about! You're Maui! You have a...fishhook? Ok maybe you do have something to worry about.
The creature is the family tension that leads to you turning someone into a vicious, blood-thirsty firefly.

I love the episode and am really excited for the next episode, please make the next one soon, or just confirm you will make another one, please consider
Just to check – you mean the next episode in this series, right? You see more recent episodes than 208 on your feed? I only ask because we’ve been having feed issues lately.
Yes, thanks for taking the time to respond
I’m getting all the episodes and member episodes fine, thanks for the cool member episodes, I love them :)!
Hey, enjoyed this episode but before you do another pacific or māori story please consider listening to the correct pronunciation of the names to really get them down. Most of the words have audio clips to hear how they’re said on maoridictionary.com – eg irawaru https://maoridictionary.co.nz/search?idiom=&phrase=&proverb=&loan=&histLoanWords=&keywords=Irawaru karakia https://maoridictionary.co.nz/search?idiom=&phrase=&proverb=&loan=&histLoanWords=&keywords=Karakia te reo māori pronunciation is really consistent, and has the emphasis either on the dipthong (where there are multiple vowels in a row, or an elongated vowel indicated by a macron over the vowel) or the end of the word, and each syllable ends with a vowel. Taranga for example is ta-ra-nga with the emphasis on the “nga” (note if you look it up the word taranga on md, it is not said quite the same as tāranga what the first few listings are as the name does not have its own listing)
Also it would have been nice to get an acknowledgement of the stuff up regarding the rā being called by the wrong name in the previous māui episode, otherwise people are never going to realize that the name was wrong the whole episode.
Thank you so much for this. I truly appreciate it and I’ll work to make sure I don’t make those mistakes again.
really glad to hear it. I’m by no means an expert, but feel free to contact me (my email is attached to my comments) if you’d like a bit of āwhina (help). I’m currently doing a diploma in te reo māori so might be able to answer simple things or ask people who are true experts.
I loved this episode! In 2019 we visited the Hawaii Volcano National Park. They have an art center Gallery and I picked up a block print giclée of Hina Releasing the Moon. This episode reminded me of that great trip and my beautiful souvenir.
Thanks!
