Hi, I’m a huge fan. Wondering if you have seen the studio Ghibli film pom poko (1994) because you mentioned you couldn’t find many fleshed out tanoki stories. It’s really great and is on Netflix now.
Yes!! That’s exactly what I thought of like barely a minute into the episode man that movie is wild. It feels like one long fever dream. I was fascinated to find out they are actually part of Japanese folklore I’d forgotten about them from the previous episode featuring them.
