Two stories of terrible parents. One decides to get rich by strapping a gemstone to an infant's head, and the other let her son do whatever he wanted until the day came when she needed him to do one little thing: babysit a chicken. It did not go well.
The creature is the phooka, from Ireland, and it will fly you to the moon...but not in the charming Sinatra way, but in the literal way where you suffocate.

I thought this was an incredible episode. Both tales complemented each other perfectly. They stories went down separate paths but had similar parental themes.
One question I had, what was the name of the first story? Is it called “The Pearl”? Just a folktale or is there an author? Thank you!
Hi there,
So I know this reply is two years late, but I was able to find the first fairy tale. It’s called Adalmina’s pearl and it’s a Finnish fairy tale written by Zachris Topelius. It’s common in Finland and Sweden but not as much in English speaking countries. Here’s an English translation if you’d like: https://www.deviantart.com/beldarius/journal/Zachris-Topelius-Adalmina-s-Pearl-fairytale-493778942
And the Finnish version: https://iltasatu.org/lue-selaimessa/?id=1637
