King Olaf has a new guest...named Guest. Guest has a story, an impossible story of gods, giants, and heroes from a time long past. If it's true, it could change everything King Olaf thought he knew about himself, his people, and his history. If it's not true, well, at least it's still a good story.

I don’t think you need to rerecord the old episodes. I only found this podcast last summer, but I’ve been listening to the episodes from the first to the newest- so I’ve only just gotten to this episode. I didn’t have any trouble with the sound quality in the oldest episodes, except occasionally when you cut it wrong, and you started saying one word and ending saying another.
Yes if you wanted to re-write/release the older episodes, I would be Super onboard.
Love this podcast and its narrator. I also listen to Fictional, hope that the fourth season will come out soon.l
Hey, I really liked this story! But what was your source material? I’d like to know more, but Googling “Viking guest” only returns with either this podcast or info about going on a river cruise.
Awesome work with the show!
If you look up “The Thāttr of Nornagest” you’ll find multiple references to the tale and it’s origin. :)
I don’t think you needs to do a re-recording of every old episodes, but you did start out with some really great stories (Yvain, the Volsungs and Koschei probably being amongst my top pics), so I would very much love you taking another go at them.
As for this weeks episode, man, poor Guest. All those storytellers of old didn’t give him the credit he deserves. Good on you for trying to right that injustice.
Oh my goodness! A re-recording would be perfect! I’ve tried to listen to older episodes but the sound quality has really improved in the last four years, almost to the point where the older episodes are unlistenable. I’ve always been pretty bummed about that impairing the quality of the saga of the Volsungs and the old Arthurian episodes that I would love to listen to. A redone old episode or storyline every other month would be amazing!
I think we should skip re-recording. The early episodes are very good, and well-told, and I’d much rather hear new stories that we haven’t gotten to yet. But the grailquest hasn’t taken off yet, nor has the Trojan War itself, and we’ve just gotten started with Roman legends and Robin Hood. Maybe in a year or two if the old well is running dry, but not now when we’re just getting to the exciting stuff.
Yes please rewrite the Volsungs I loved that story it would be amazing
