This week, there are two stories from Japanese folklore. The first has to do with a butterfly that just won't give up trying to land on the face of a dying man. The second is of a monk-in-training who just doesn't want to stop partying.
The creature is Hedley Cow, and she will give you hope that that the relationship with your crush might work out...but will leave you standing alone in the swamp.

Check out http://audible.com/myths for some excellent audiobooks. The one I recommended on today's show was "Mythology" by Edith Hamilton.
I absolutely loved the first story. It was beautiful. Thank you for sharing all of these!
Could you tell me about the source of the second story?
This was great – the second story strikes me as a sort of metaphor for the idea of the dharma. It is ultimately just a bridge to get you to the end goal of enlightenment, and has no value beyond that.
What is the name of the creature in the second episode ?
Nice episode this week I really like the idea of the monster skunk next week?
